Work
Grace has been making art in a variety of mediums since childhood, and credits her Waldorf education and enthusiastic parents for encouraging her to explore a smorgasbord of creative pursuits (for better or for worse).
She received her bachelors in Theatre and Studio Art from the University of Vermont, where she delved into a variety of artistic mediums including silkscreen, scenic painting, costume design, and drawing. After graduation, Grace lived for almost a decade in Boston– continuing to find creative outlets within the bounds of day to day jobs: making signs when she worked at Trader Joe's, volunteering to do lettering on the chalkboard menu at the café, graphic design for event announcements at the office. Eventually, friends in the theatre scene began to ask her to create posters for plays, and she ended up branching out into social media, communications, and graphic design.
All of Grace's digital design work has been self taught, and her goal is to approach every project with compassion, a spirit of collaboration, and a desire to make the world just a little more fun.

2024 Blue Ridge Marathon
GRAPHIC DESIGN ● ILLUSTRATION
Project
Creating a series of T shirts for all five of the 2024 Blue Ridge Marathon races that would harmoniously incorporate design elements from the Down by Downtown Music Festival graphics (also designed by me), previously chosen medal colors, and iconic landmarks in the city of Roanoke.

Down by Downtown
Music Festival
GRAPHIC DESIGN ● ILLUSTRATION
Project
I was asked to create the poster and visual assets for the 2024 Down by Downtown Music Festival, to be used by their marketing team for print and social media. The design had to visually connect to elements in the t shirt design for the simultaneously occurring Blue Ridge Marathon, and incorporate the festival's existing logo. Many of these assets are being used for the 2025 marketing as well.

GRAPHIC DESIGN ● SOCIAL MEDIA ● BRANDING ● COMMUNICATIONS
Project
Creating marketing materials and visual assets for a newly formed theatre company in Boston, in addition to running their social media accounts for the duration of the production process. The challenge? Drumming up interest from scratch for a show that was firmly based in a genre rarely explored on stage: sci fi. This was a joyfully collaborative project (my favorite kind), and I was able to wear many hats: content creator, graphic designer, head of marketing, etc., as well as work in a variety of mediums and platforms as well: print, video, email blasts/marketing, Facebook ads, you name it. The production was a success, and had a nearly sold out run.

INFOGRAPHICS ● ILLUSTRATION
Project
I was asked to create a series of social media infographics and come up with branding for a newly formed artistic fellowship program based out of Delaware. Using illustration and bold colors, the goal was to create accessible and eye catching graphics that would stand out on someone's feed, and retain the spirit of creativity and community that House Lights stands for.

Project
I was asked to create a series of illustrations for a regional executive visit, highlighting the visual beauty of Roanoke, VA and its surrounding counties, and incorporating key landmarks from the area. These assets were used for a collection of print products, most notably a foldable gift box.
